Be it known that I, G US'IAV A. liners SCHNITT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Sign Plate or Similar Article, of which the follow ing is a. specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming, part thereof, and in which Figure 1 is a face view of a sign-plate hearing and incorporating my design, and Fig. 3 is an edge View of same.

The leading feature of my design consists of the border ornamentation along the outer portions of the face of the substantially fiat plate, substantially as shown in the drawings.

In the drawings, A designates the plate,

l which has a substantially flat face, as shown in Fig. 2, and which face, as illustrated in Fig. l, hears the ornamental border, com posed of the bars ll and corner ornamentations C, said bars and corner ornainentations having a mottled effect, and, although substantially fiat presenting the appearance of being in relief, as shown.

\Vhat I claim is- The design for a sign-plate or similar article, substantially as shown and described.
