Application filed March 25, 1901. Serial'No. 52,871. Term of patent 14 years- T0 aZZ whont it nuty concern:
Be itknown that 1, WILLIAM M. MONROE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for a Bolt, of which the following is a specification, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 in the drawings is an elevation of a bolt, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the bolt on line a a, Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design are pyramidal projections 1, having rectangular bases 2, arranged in close spiral order in a band about a depressed portion 3 of the cylindrical shank of a bolt 4. The pyramidal projections are also arranged in lines, as at 5, longitudinally of the shank, closely adjoining one another.
The pyramidal points usually project beyond the adjacent cylindrical surfaces of the boltshank on either side of the band. The grooves, both spiral and longitudinal, are V- shaped in section, and the points are brought to a fine termination. The grooves are all of the same depth and run longitudinally as well as diagonally.
Having described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a bolt, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM M. MONROE.
