DESIGN FOR A MONUMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,051, dated February 5, 1901.
Application filed August 1, 1900. serial No. 25,479. Term of patent 8% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ELzY M. WOLFE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mansfield, in the county of Richland and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for Monuments, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of my new and originallydesigned monument, showing its essential features. Fig. 2 is an end view of same, the bases A and O removed to show more fully the complete design of the monument.
The monument consists of the base A, which is rectangular, the corners B rounded. The second base 0 is also rectangular to conform to the lower base A and is provided with the molding D, carved, the upper edge provided with a denticulated molding E. The third section F is provided at each corner with a carved base G.
The die H consists of a rectangular block plain upon the face of the walls. Each corner is provided with a pilaster I, carved as shown. The said pilasters are the same in design upon the ends of the monument, as shown in Fig. 2. Each pilaster is provided with a capital J, which forms part of the center die molding is provided with the beaded fillet Q.
The upper surface of the cap R is convex longitudinally and on the cross-section, the front and back of the cap rounded upon the edge and out under to a line with the back of the curved molding P.
Having fully described my new monumental design, what I claim is- The design for a monument substantially as illustrated and described.
