ALFRED PLANT, OF KEYPORT, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A VITREOUS FLOOR-TILE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design Ne. 34,661, dated. June 11, 1901.
Application filed May 18, 1901. Serial No. 60,948. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may anaem- Be it known that I, ALFRED PLANT, a citiien of the United States, residing at Keyport, in the county of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Vitreous Floor-Tile; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to designs for vitreo'us floor tiles.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of such a tile, showing my new de= sign therefor. Fig. 2 is a cross-section on the line 2 2, Fig. 1. p
The leading or material feature of my design consists of a main or body portion A,whose length is twice its breadth, having the corners beveled ofi at an angle of forty-five degrees with the sides and having on its face araised figure. The face a of the tile is flat and smooth. The ornamental figure B is very slightly raised above the face a, andits sur face is flat and roughened, as indicated by the diagonal shading. The figure is composed of rounded portions I), connected by intermedi= ate straight portions 1), which unite with the portions 1) by easy curves 5 leaving no sharp corners.
Having thus described my design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a vitreous floor-tile, substantially as herein shown and described.
