EDGAR C. MORAN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A LAM P-BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,959, dated January 22, 1901.
Application filed December 29, 1900. Serial No. 11,542. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known thatI, EDGAR O. MORAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produceda new and original Design forLamp-Bodies, of which the followingis a specification, reference being had to the drawing forming a part thereof.
The accompanying drawing is a side elevation of a lamp-body constructed according to my design.
As shown in the drawing, the leading or material features of my design lie in the configuration and ornamentation ofa lamp-body.
The body portion A is oviform or, perhaps, more nearly of the form of a lemon. It has an equatorial raised band or bead=A and at its lower end has the downweirdly-extending curving annular base-flange A At the upper end the body portion A is provided with the stem A surrounded by concentric beads A formed in the body portion A.
From opposite sides of the body portion, about midway between the equator and the upper pole, extend two outwardly-curving diverging arms A and A. These arms are secured to the body portion A by the annular shoulders A The arms A and A curve outward and upward and at their upper ends turn inward to face each other. The arm A is considerably longer than the arm A, its upper end extending horizontally for some distance. At its extemityit has the enlarged portion A and directly over the stem A bears a shield A An upwardly-curving scroll A in bale form is secured at one of its ends to the arm A and at its other end to the arm A and scrolls A are secured to Ihe arms A and A near their lowerends andextend between said arms and the body portion A of the lamp.
I claim as my invention The design for a lamp-body, substantially as herein shown and described.
EDGAR C. MORAN. Witnesses:
