Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BERNARD A. GEURINK, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE SCHNEIDER dz TRENKAMP COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A HEATING-BURNER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,697, dated December 11, 1900.
Application filed November 9, 1900. Serial No. 35,985. Term ofpatent 14 years- To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, BERNARD A. GEURINK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Ouyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign fora Heating-Burner, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure I is a top plan of a burner embodying my design. Fig. II is a bottom plan of the same. Fig. III is a front side elevation relative to Fig. I. Fig. IV is ,right-hand side elevation relative to Fig. I. 5 i
ig. V is a transverse vertical section on any e of lines V V, Fig. I.
My new design for a gas-stove burner coinprises a horizontally-arranged annular case comprising a lower part at, having the shape of an annular pan, and an upper part1), that is ring-shaped and covers or extends over the lower part Ct. The lower part ct at one side has a depending projection or enlargement 6 formed thereon. The upper part b of the annular case is provided with a series of corresponding circular apertures or holes 7, arranged at equal intervals around and equidistant from the hole or opening 8, formed centrally of the said case, and each hole 7 is enlarged upwardly by an annular flange 9, that surrounds the said hole and is formed upon the part b. The external or upper surface of the upper part b of the case slopes from the flanges 9 downwardly and outwardly toward the lower part a of the case, as shown at 10 in Figs. III, IV, and V, and the external surroundingsurface of the lower part at slopes upwardlyand outwardly, as at 11, toward the upper part b, as shown in the said Figs. III, IV, and V.
Internally of the lower part a and upon the inner surface of the bottom of the said part a are formed as many upright tubular projections 12 as there are holes 7 formed in the upper part b, and the said hollow projections 12 register with the different holes, respectively, in the said part Z). Each projection 12 is conical and extends into and centrally of the hole 7 with which the said projection registers, and the holes extending through the two tubular projections that are formed next to the depending enlargement 6 of the case have their outer portions entended downwardly, as at 13, into the said enlargement, as shown in Fig. II, III, and IV.
The central portion of the upper part b of the case that forms the surrounding wall of the upper portion of the centrally-located opening 8 slopes downwardly and inwardly, as at let, toward the lower part (L, that has its inner surface 15, which forms the surrounding wall of the lower portion of the aforesaid hole 8, sloping upwardly and inwardly toward the upper part b.
The leading and characteristic feature of my design comprises the following: an annular case havingits top provided with several apertures or holes 7, arranged in a series extending around the opening 8, formed centrally of the case, each aperture or hole 7 of the said series being enlarged upwardly by a flange formed around the same, and tubular projections 12, formed upon the bottom of the case and extending into and centrally of the aforesaid holes 7.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a heating-burner, substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed by me at Cleveland, Ohio, this 18th day of October, 1900.
BERNARD A. GEURINK.
