DESIGN FOR A SAND-BAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,250, dated September Application filed Au t, 18, 1900. Serial No. 27,349. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIS M. FARR, a citi- .eu of the United States,residingat Dowagiac, in the county of Cass and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Sand-Bands; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 represents a rear view of my new design. Fig. 2 is a front view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a bottom view. Fig. 4 is a ver tical section.
This invention has relation to a novel design for sand-bands, all as will be hereinafter described and shown.
In the drawings the design represents a hood, and the main feature thereof consists of the rounded portion a, which intersects the horizontal portion 1) where the latter meets the vertical portion a. Projecting from the inner face are lugs r? d, which have vertical openings, and the same are arranged on the outside face of the band and on either side of the opening '2. At right angles to the vertical face of the band and within the hood are two vertical ribs ff, which extend at right angles to said face, the upper ends 9 g being rounded inward, while the lower end of each rib is rounded outward, as clearly shown at h h. The outline of the band or contour is semicircular in form and has a projection 2' above the opening.
