Description

DlZ-ZO.
DES l G N Patantad liar. 2|, I899.
W. l. FARR. sun nun.
(Applientioi mm Ich. H, 1890.)
W! I WESSES UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIS M. FARR, OF DOWAGIAC, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A SAND-BAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 30,368, dated March 21, 1899.
Application filed February 14, 1899. Serial Ila. 705.478. Term of patent 14 yeln.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIS M. FARR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dowagiac, in the con nt of Cass and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Sand-Bands; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a novel design for sand-bands, and the leading features are in a smooth surface, which when viewed in a vertical longitudinal section (see Figure 1 of the drawings) presents an outer rounded surface a, presenting an ogee, and an inner curved surface 0, which tapers from the point d outwardly to the point e.
This design is so shaped that it presents a hood b, and the rear portion of the hood is cut away, as at f, presenting an opening 9, the lower portion of which is not closed and presents an outlet j.
In shaping my sand-band design the hood presents a formation which shows the same when viewed from the rear a band about onethird of which is removed on a horizontal plane, thus presenting an inverted-U -shaped opening, or substantially so, as clearly indicated in Fig. 2 of the drawings, the thickened portion k terminating at the points I l on the line at the lower portion of the hood. It will thus be observed by reference to the annexed drawings, when taken in connection with the above description, that the novel design for sand-bands as herein described and shown presents a rounder smooth outer sn rface and when viewed in section, as in Fig. 1, presents what is denominated an ogee.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is The design for a sand-band herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
WILLIS M. FARR.
Witnesses:
CLYDE W. Kn'rcnan, J. W. Scarrnnooon.
