JAMES L. POALK, OF MEROHANTVILLE, NE\V JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A LACE-FASTENER.
SPECIFIOATION forming part of Design No. 33,157, dated September 4, 1900. Application filed August 4, 1900. Serial No. 25,951. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES L. POALK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Merchantville, in thecounty of Camden and State c New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Lace-Fastener, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which Figurel is a top or plan view of a lace-fastener,showingthedesign ofmysaidinveniion. Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the fastener, and Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1. These three views are deemed essential to fully illustrate the shape and configuration of the lace-fastenor of the design of my said invention.
As illustrated in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my invention consists of the particular shape or configuration of the fastener, comprising a circular perforated or eyelet head at, having formed integral therewith a tubular shank (4 the lower portion of which is flanged at a From the upper portion of the perforated or eyelet head a the flatsurfaced and rounded-edge stem or arm I) of the hook I) is bent upward at b and the stem or arm made tapering to the neck of the hook I), which latter is curved slightly at the free end and concaved on the innerside b", with the surface b beveled about that portion of the hook, the device of Inysaid invention presenting in appearance a circular eyelet-head,with a contracted or tapering stem or arm merging into a substantially goose-shaped neckhook, the innersurface of which neck is concaved and beveled where the hook portion joins the stem or arm of the device, and lhe said stem or arm, with its book, being located slightly above the plane of the said eyelethead, as clearly illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3 of the drawings.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The design for a lace-fastener, substantially as herein described and illustrated.
