SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,852, dated January 8, 1901.
Application filed November 10, 1900. Serial No. 36,004. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES LEIB, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have in vented and prod need a new and original Design for a Hook for Garments, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a top plan view. Fig. 2 is a side View, and Fig. 3 is atop plan View, of the shank with the hook portion and the tongue sectioned.
This design is for a hook for garments of that class designated as hooks and eyes, and pertains to the class in which thereis a bump in coaction with the hook.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the circularly-curved portion 1, formed of one of the wires 2 of the shank, the circularlycnrved portion 3, formed of the wire 4 of the shank, and the return-bend of the tongue 5, lying in parallel relation and in close assemblage, the two wires 2 and 4, together with the tongue 5, forming the shank, with the return-bend of wires 2 and 4 forming a hook 6, the tongue angled at 7 to form a bump which terminates at the rear end substantially in vertical alinement with the end of hook 6, with each wire 2 and 4t curved outwardly at or near the curvature of the hook, as at S, forming an enlargement of the shank, the return portion of tongue 5 diverging from the shank proper at an angle of substantially forty-five degrees, whereby the curvatures 1 and 3 are divergent from the shank, the whole forming a sym metrical hook, as shown.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a hook for garments, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
CHARLES LEIB.
