TO ALL WI-IOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, O. P. ARNOLD, ofthe city, county, and State of New York, have invented an improved Design for the Frames of Gyroscopic Tops; and I do hereby declare that the following is a. full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making n portion of this specification, in which- Figure lis a. side view of a gyroscopio top, having its frame made according to my design.

Figure 2 is e plane view of the seme.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding,t pa-rts in both figures.

The frame is represented at A in the drawings, and has its two opposite sides formed on salient curves or aires, ct, from which, to the ends ZJ, the intermediate portions are shaped on re-entrnnt curves, all as shown in fig. 1, the curvature of the portions a b being somewhat less than that of the other or side portions a. One of the ends, ofthe frame is formed straight across, as shown at a, and the opposite end extends outward from the curved portions, just hereinbei'ore described, in the shape of a, square, as shown nt al. The curved portions ft and a b are made of circular shape in their transverse section.

What I claim ns my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Potent, is-

The design and configuration, heroin described and shown, of the frame of' a. gyroseopic top.
