(Application filed May I], 1899.}
UNITED STATES JAMES II. VALENTINE, OF
PATENT OFFICE.
CHATIIAM, NElV JERSEY,
DESIGN FOR A VAPORiZlNG VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,880, dated May 30, 1899. Application filed May 6, 1899. Serial No. 715,871. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES H. VALENTINE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chatham, in the county of Morris and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for VaporizingVes sels, of which the following is a specification.
This is a design for the basinsor vessels of Vaporizers, and relates to the shape of such basins or vessels.
The new design provides a new and original shape for vaporizing vessels.
My new design is shown in the accoln panying drawings, in which-'- Figure 1 is a perspective view of avaporizing vessel or basin embodying the new design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section thereof, and Fig. 3 is a plan view thereof.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a vaporizing vessel or basin, B the top of obverse side thereof, and 0 bottom of reverse side thereof.
According to the main distinctive feature of the new design, the basin, which is a circular dish, haslmmediately within its cylindrical annular-edged flange a a deep annular recess b and centrally thereof a circular pro tuberance c. The bottom wall of the recessb is awide curvedwall d, and its outer sidewall e is substantially in the form of a truncated cone slightly concaved or curved, rising from an imperceptible junction with the wall d to an imperceptible junction with the cylindrical edge a. Theinner wall of the recess 1) is an approximately conical or tapering straight wall f, rising from an imperceptible junction with the bottom wall (I in the form of a truncated cone reversed relatively to the wall 9 and making an imperceptible junction with a curved wall g, which intervenes between the wall f and the bulging convex top wall h of the protuberance c.
The reverse side of the vessel or basin, according to another feature of my design, has the shape of an annular protuberance 1', projecting downwardly from the edge a, and a circular central cavity g,the cavity and protuberance having smooth walls merging from one into the other, the outer wall of the protuberance having substantially the form of a truncated cone and its inner wall having substantialiy the form of a reverse truncated cone.
The walls of the obverse and reverse sides of the basin are smooth and polished. V
The vessels or basins embodying the new shape comprising this design are of distinc tive and pleasing appearance.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for avaporizing vessel substantially as hereinbefore described and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JAMES H. VALENTINE.
