TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, GEORGE B. OWEN, of VVnsted, in the county of Litchfield, and State of Connecticut,
have invented a new and original Design for Cloek-Case grand I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
This invention relates to a new and originall design for a clock-case front, of that class which are of quadrilateral form. i
In the accompanying sheet of drawings- Figure 1 is a front view'of a clock-case constructed according to my design.
Figure 2, a horizontal section of the same, taken in the line xx, iig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the base of the clock-case, which is of rectangular form, and has a moulding, a, on its top, which extends in front and at the sides of the bottom of the body of the case, which body is of square form.
A The fronts of the sides of the case are bevelled, as shown at ax, nearly their whole width, leaving a narrow surface, b, which surfaces are parallel with the front ofthe base, A.
The top, c, of the case is provided with a bead, cx, of convex form, and just below the top, c, on each bevelled or oblique surface, a, there is a. giltI bracket-ornament, d, smaller gilt ornaments, d', being at the lower ends ofthe bevelled or oblique surfaces a, said ornaments being composed of concave and convex surfaces e c", as shown clearly in iig. 1.
B is the door, the front surface of which Vis composed of a f-cyma," e, and a concave,j`, the latter being gilt, a cross-piece, g, of the door also being gilt, and also the bead eX of the top, c.
I claim as new, anddesire to secure by Letters Patent- A The design for a clock-case, as described and shown.
