Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This invention relates to a new finger-ring, formed of cast or rolled metal, which is provided with a groove on the inner side, so that, with an outer side ol ordinary or suitable shape, the ring will appear to be solid andheavy, while it will, in fact, he a light shell. Theedges of the ring formed by the groove are slightly widened, to form a. bearing-surface which shall not cut or injure the finger. By this method beautiful rings can be cheaply produced, and not so much metal vvill be Wasted in their manufacture.
A represents a finger-ring, made of saitablemetel or other material, of suitable size and external appearance.
Its inner side, a, is made concave, by having e. grooveformed in,it, as is clearly shown in iig. 2. This groove may be of suitable depth or width, according to the thickness or amount of metal to be giiven to the ring. The groove is made in such a. manner as to leave thcedges of the ring somewhat widened, to form a Het `surface, which shall not'cut or injure the finger.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
As a new article of manufacture, a. nger-ring made of cast or rolled metal, with a. grooved inner face, and with its edges slightly widened to forni a bearing-surface upon theiinger, as herein shown and described.
