DESIGN FOR A HEADBOARD 0R FOOTBOARD FOR BEDSTEADS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,341, dated March 14, 1899.
Application filed December 22, 1898. Serial No. 700,067. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JOHN D. HAGGARD and HENRY H. MARoUssoN, citizens of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Headboard or Footboard for Bedsteads; and-we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyin s., drawing, forming a part thereof.
The drawing represents a perspective View of a headboard or footboard for bedsteads embodying our invention.
The leading feature of our design resides in the arrangement of the frame part coniposing the headboard or footboard, which comprises the outside frame A, of light plate metal bent to form the vertical leg partsa a, and the connecting top cross-bar a, the bend being rounded, as at a.
Another feature of the design is the crossbar B, which connects the leg parts and the arched spring-plate C, the respective ends of which are rolled upwardly and inwardly and fastened to the cross-bar B and leg parts. The top of the spring-plate C is secured to the under side and center of the frame crossbar a.
Another feature is the truss X-brace E, consisting of the four branches d d dd, united together at the middle, and the widely-extended ends attached to the leg parts.
What we claim is- The design for a headboard or footboard, substantially as herein shown and described.
