(Application filed Dec. 27, 1898.)
zlzi flesses,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LEROY S. BUFFINGTON, OF MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA.
DESIGN FOR A LAMP-BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,082, dated January 31, 1899-. Application filed December 27,1898. Serial No. 700,463. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that 1, Laser S. BUFFINGTON, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Minneapolis, connty of lIennepin, State of Minnesota, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Lamp-Body, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a side elevation, Fig. 2 is a side elevation with some parts broken away, and Fig. 3 is a front elevation, of a lam pbody embodying my design.
11y reference to said drawings it will be seen that the lamp-body is of spheroidal form, being a sphere truncated at one point to afford a face and formed at this face with a concav ity or spheroidal depression. A nipple'like projection having the appearance of a gasburner projects from the center of the con cavity or spheroidal depression on the axis thereof. Then the lamp-body is viewed from the front or looking directlyinto its concave face, the nipple-like projection appears projecting directly toward the observer and at the center of the said concave face.
The general appearance of the la1npbody is that of a ball or sphere, and when viewed from the front its concave face and nipplelike projection give the lamp-body a very unique though plain and simple appearance.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
The design for a lamp-body, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
LEROY S. BUFFINGTON.
