UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ADOLPII BIERMAN, OF N E\V YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,258, dated February 21, 1899.
Application filed January 16, 1899. Serial No. 702,368- Term of patent '7 years- To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I,ADOLPH BIERMAN, asubject of the Emperor of Germany, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Fabric, of which the following is a specification.
In the drawings forming part of this specification, Figure 1 isa plan view; Fig. 2, a sectional side elevation, partly in perspective, of the article made in accordance with my invention, the section being taken on the line 2 2, Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a view showing a portion of the backing and the fiber extending therefrom.
The object of my invention is to produce either from a natural fur-skin or an imitation fur-skin, which originally has a straight or fiat pelt and long and straight hair or fur, a close simulation of the tibet fur.
The essential feature of my invention therefore resides in the configuration of the backing and fiber extending therefrom, substantially as herein shown.
At 1 is a backing-piece. At 2 is the fiber, extending from the surface of the backing, normally substantially parallel to the backing, as shown in Fig. 2. The fiber extends from the backing continuously along the length of the latter, as shown in Fig. 3. Both the backing and the fiberare crimped or sinuously disposed, the base 3 of the corrugation on the fiber side being substantially fiat, as shown at Fig. 3 in the drawings, the elevation 4 of the corrugation cxteriorly being curved. Reversely, the elevation 5 of the corrugation on the backing is fiat and the depression (i curved, the lines of the fiber being substantially parallel and concentric.
Having described my invention, I claim- The design for fabric, substantially as here in shown and described.
Signed in the city, county, and State of New York this 12th day of January, 1899.
ADOLPH BIERMAN.
