UNITED STATES FRANCIS n. DREYER,
PATENT ()FFICE.
or NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR AN ASH-PAN SIFTER.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANCIS HELMUTH DREYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Ash-Pan Sifter, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, wherein like letters of reference indicate like parts, Figure 1 is a side view of an ash-pan sifter embodying my design. Fig. 2 is an end view, and Fig. 3 a plan view.
The leading feature of my design consists in the new and original shape and outline of the sifter, as shown in the drawings forming a part of this application.
In said drawings, A designates the sifter, made to present a rectangular outline in plan View.
B B denote the sides, which slope downward and inward and meet the edges of the bottom, and C 0 denote the ends, which likewise slope downward and inward, but at a more acute angle than the sides B B, and meet the edges of the bottom.
D denotes the bottom, which is provided with circular perforations a, and 1) denotes a row of similar perforations arranged in the sides B B and the ends 0 0 adjacent to their lower edges, which edges unite with the edges of the bottom D.
Upon the outer surface of the sloping sides B B, near the center thereof, are provided the supporting ears or clips E E, which extend outward therefrom and have their outer edges bent downward, and upon the outer surfaces of the ends 0 G adjacent to their upper edges are provided handles F F, each having circular apertures c in their opposing ends.
The form and outline of the ash-pan sifter as described and illustrated in the drawings constitute an attractive, distinctive, and useful design.
Vhat I claim is The design for an ash-pan sifter, substantially as shown and described.
Signed at the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, this 28th day of September, 1897.
FRANCIS II. DREYER.
