UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MARK S. LEVERING, OF ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- HALF TO WM. F. DILL AND HOWARD R. MILLER, OF PHILADELPHIA,
PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A HOSE-MENDING DEVICE.
SPEGIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 28,544, dated May 3, 1898. Application flied March 17, 1898. Serial No. 674,266. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, MARK S. LEVERING, a citizen of the United States, residing at Atlantic City, in the county of Atlantic and State of New Jersey, have invented and pro duced a new and original Design for Hose- Mending Devices, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevational view of ahosemending device, showing my design. Fig. 2 is an end elevational view thereof, and Fig. 3 is a longitudinal central sectional view of Fig. 1.
As illustrated in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of an outer tube A, the ends whereof are notched or indented, as at B, an inner tube D concentric with the outer tube A, and an annular fin E, arranged intermediate of the ends of both tubes A and D and uniting said tubes together.
The device when viewed in side elevation presents the appearance of a short tube having notched ends, and when viewed in end elevation it presents the appearance of two concentric tubes joined together by a ring shaped fin at some distance from the ends, the outer tube being divided or separated into segments F.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a hose-mending device, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
MARK S. LEVERING.
Witnesses:
