IIIIIIIHH IIIJIIIIIHIH CAMERON MILAIVI in NITED rarns arnnr ADVERTlSMGDEVlCE SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 608,855, dated August 9, 1898. Application filed eptember 9, 1897. Serial No. 651,116. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JEFFERSON D. HEFLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cameron, in the county of Milam and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Advertising Devices; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
-My invention relates vice; and it consists, essentially, in a trundling hoop comprising a metallic ring having a central peripheral rib or projection approximately semicircular in cross-section and an interior groove, in combination with a disk to receive advertisements having its edges seated in said groove, as hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of an advertising-hoop constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view ofthe same.
In the said drawings the reference-numeral 1 designates the hoop, consisting of a metallic ring formed With a peripheral rib 2, approximately semicircular in cross-section, and with a groove 3 in its interior and having annular flanges 4 at each side of said rib and groove.
to change the same or to an advertising de The numeral 5 designates a disk, preferably of cardboard or similar light material, upon which maybe printed, painted, or otherwise produced anysuitable advertisements. The edge of this disk is seated in the said groove, and the flanges prevent abrasion or injury to the disk while the hoop is being trundled. When thus inserted in the groove, the disk will be held securely in place, yet can be slipped in and out when it is desired for other purposes.
The device can be produced so cheaply as to enable advertisers to give it away and will be a source of amusement to children.
Having thus fully described my invention, What I claim is- The combination witha trundle-hoop, consisting of the metallic ring formed with a pcripheral rib, an internal groove and two side flanges, of the disk for receiving advertisements having its edge seated in said groove, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I allix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
JEFFERSON D. IIEFLEY.
