DESIGN FOR A GEAR-CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,432, dated March 29, 1898. Application filed Augu t 3, 1897. Serial No. 646,979. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES S. COPELAND, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Hartford, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and original Design for Gear-Cases; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in-
Figure 1, a top view of a gear-case embodying my design, and in Fig. 2 a view in side elevation of the gear-case.
My design consists of a bulbous structure a, united near one side to a similar bulbous body 0, located at an angle with the first, said angle being, as shown in the drawings, about ninety degrees. One of said bulbous parts a is provided with a reduced portion Z) on the surface facing outward from that side 011 which the two bulbous structures are united.
The bulbous body 0 is provided with rounded edges (1 6 when seen in plan view, as in Fig. 1, this body 0 when seen in side View, as in Fig. 2, having a circular form.
The characteristic or leading feature of my design consists of the two bulbous bodies united near one side and placed at an angle each with the other.
I claim The design for a gear-case substantially as shown.
