DESIGN FOR A PEDAL TREAD-PIECE FOR BICYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,314, dated February 22, 1898. Application flied November 26, 1897. Serial No.659,92. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWIN H. EHRMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing in Ohicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for Pedal Tread-Pieces for Bicycles, of which the following is a specification.
Figure 1 is a side view, and Fig. 2 a plan, of a tread-piece embodying my new design. Figs. 3 and 4 are views of the opposite ends of the piece.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the tips, wings, or upward projections A, rising at each end of the forward side or member of the tread-piece B and above the level of the tread-piece, said tips being arranged in converging lines, as clearly indicated in the drawings. Similar converging tips, wings, or projections A are also provided at the ends of the other or rear member of the tread-piece, such tips being shown in the drawings as extending downward below the level of the tread-piece.
