DESIGN FOR A THlLL-COUPLING PLATE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,194, dated January 18, 1898.

Application filed December 14,1897. Serial No. 661,898. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that 1, CHARLES T. REDFIELD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Glenhaven, in the county of Cayuga and State of New York, have invented and prod need a new and original Design for a 'lhill Coupling Plate, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of a thillcoupling plate embodying the features of my design, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.

The leading feature of the design consists in the body-section having its opposing faces curved in the same direction and provided with a longitudinal opening containing a tongue, the free end of which extends above the plane of the convexcd face of the body. End members are provided at an angle to the bodyand extending in the same direction, one of the said members being longer than the other. The longer member inclines toward the tongue and terminates in an outwardlyprojected flange.

A minor feature of the design consists in an indentation that appears in the shorter end member and an opening in the longer end member.
