Description

DESIGN.
No. 3|,978. Patented Dec. l2, I899.
J. R. ALLEN. HARNESS TRACE HOOK.
(Application filed Oct. 18, 1899.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN R. ALLEN, OF PEMBERTON, NEl/V JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A HARNESS TRACE -HOOK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,978, dated December 12, 1899.
Application filed October 18, 1899. Serial No. 734,034. Term of patent 7 years.
To alt whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN R. ALLEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Penxberton, in the county of Burlington and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for a Harness Trace- Hook, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in Which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a harness trace-hook constructed in accordance with my design. Fig. 2 is an edge View.
The essential feature of my design consists in the shape of the body, the plate having the spiral hook at one end, the enlarged eonical portion at the opposite end, the opening adjacent the conical end, and the eye arranged upon the apeX of said conical end.
Referring especially to the drawings, A indicates the body of the hook, which is essentially in the form of a plate and tapers gradually toward one end, said tapered end being coiled in the form of a spiral, as shown at B in Fig. 1, the spiral being bent slightly out of the plane of the body or plate A, as shown at O in Fig.2. The opposite end of the plate is formed with an enlargement D, essentially conical in shape, and adjacent to said enlarged end the body of the plate has an essentially-semicircular opening E. An eye F is arranged upon the outer end of the enlargement.
A harness trace-hook constructed in the manner described will efficiently perform all of the objects for which it is intended.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is
The design for a harness trace-hook, substantially as shown and described.
JOHN R. ALLEN.
