IVILLIAM F. SCOTT, (')F ALEXANDRIA, INDIANA.
DESIGN FOR A DISPLAY-RACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,603, dated August 31, 1897'. Application led July l5, 1897. Serial No. 644,733. Term of patent 3l years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM F. SCOTT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Alexandria, in the county of Madison and State of Indiana, have invented a new and original Design for a Display-Rack, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a display1aek; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a pair of straight parallel base-strips and a series of regularly-s paced upright supports of an inverted-U form and spanning the space between the two strips, each of said supports having upright side portions provided intermediate their ends with short horizontal rightangular bends and a transverse horizontal top portion connecting the upper ends of said side portions and bent horizontally into a V- shaped figure disposed in a horizontal plane.
A minor feature of the design resides in providing the base-strips at their upper edges with a single raised ridge extending from end to end thereof, and near one end with short upright headed projections.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of a display-rack embodying the hereindescribed design. Fig. is a side elevation of the rack. Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof.
Referring to the accompanying drawings,
l l designate a pair of straight parallel basestrips, provided at their upper edges with a single raised ridge 2,extending longitudinally from end to end thereof, and at their opposite ends with beveled faces 3. Directly adjacent to one end the hase-strips l are provided with short upright headed projections I, and said strips .are connected together by a series of regularly-spaced upright supports 5, the terminals of which supports enter the longitudinal ridges 2 of the strips. The upright snpports 5 are of an inverted-U form, so as to span the space between the strips l, and each of said supports essentially comprises the opposite parallel upright side portions G and the transverse horizontal top portion 7, connecting the upper ends of said side portions G.
-The side portions fl of cach support 5 are provided intermediate their ends with short horizontal right-angular bends S, while the top portion 7 is bent into a V-shaped figure disposed in a horizontal plane.
The design for a display-rack, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM F. SCOT'l.
