\VILLIAM C. BRAY, OF NPHVTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A RIVET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,567, dated August 24, 1897.
Application filed December 2, 1896. Serial No. 614,241. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM C. BRAY, of Newton, in the county of Middlcsex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Rivets, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specifieation.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a plan of a rivet, showing my design. Fig. 2 is anelevation of the same, and Fig. 3 is a central vertical section of the same on line m cc on Fig. 1.
The leading fcatu re of my design consists in a rivet having a tubular cylindrical shank and a circular head having a smooth outer edge and a convex upper surface with a representation of a four-pointed star in relief thereon, with the center of the star coinciding with the center of the head and forming a circular convex hub, from which the several points of the star radiate, said points also being rounded transversely, as shown.
In the drawings, a is the rivet-head, having a convex outer surface, a smooth circular outer edge, and a flat inner surface, and having formed upon said outer convex surface a representation of a four-pointed star raised above the convex surface of the main body of the head a, said star being composed of the central circular hub 19, the outer surface of which is convex, and the four points 0 c, radiating therefrom and having their outer surfaces rounded transversely, as shown.
What I claim is- The design for a rivet substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, on this 28th day of November, A. D. 1896.
