DESIGN FOR A RIVET.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, MELLEN N. BRAY, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Rivets, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification.

Figure 1 of the drawings is a plan of a rivet illustrating my design, and Fig. l is a central vertical section of the same.

The leading feature of my design consists in a rivet provided with a tubular cylindrical shank, and a head having a smooth circular outer edge or rim, and an upper surface that is composed of a series of annular beads, and a central circular flatsurfacc, the general contour of said outer surface being curved or convex, and an under surface in the form of an annular fiat plane surrounding the shank or attaching member.

In the drawings, II is the rivet-head, the

general outline of the outer surface of which is convex with a smooth circular outer edge and a flat annular inner surface surrounding the shank or attaching nieniher S, which is a hollow cylinder.
