UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE \VILLIAM SCOT, OF MEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO THE DALTON-INGERSOLL COMPANY, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A LAVATORY-BOWL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,064, dated May 18, 1897.
Application filed September 14, 1895. Serial No. 562,583. Term of patent 14 years,
To all whom it may concern/.-
Be it known that I, TILLIAM SCOTT, of Medford, county of Middlesex, State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and original Design for a Lavatory-Bowl, of which the following description, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification, like letters on the drawings representing like parts.
Figure 1 is a perspective View of the bowl embodying the design, looking from a position somewhat above and to the right of the said bowl; and Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the same, partly in section.
The design forming the subject of the present invention is embodied in a lavatory-bowl having a rounded coneavo-convex lower portion a and a horizontal portion Z), extending laterally from a part only of the upper edge thereof and presenting a substantially flat surface continuous with the said upper edge and extending partly around the same. Surrounding the extreme outer periphery of the complete bowlthat is, the portion a and the horizontal portion b-is a convex marginal portion 0, rising above the edge of the concavo-convex portion a and the surface of the horizontal portion 1). The said convex 1narginal portion is continuous with and rises directly from the upper portion of the concavoconvex portion a at the front part of the bowl, as shown in Fig. 2, but flares laterally outward therefrom at the beginning of the horizontal portion 1) and extends along and rises above the edge thereof around the remainder of the periphery of the bowl.
As a secondary non-essential feature of the design the upper surface of the horizontal portion 1) may be provided with intaglio designs 0 extending to the junction of said horizontal portion with the inner surface of the concavo-convex portion a.
I claim- The design for a lavatory-bowl substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
XVILLIAM SCOTT.
