Beit known that I, MEEEITT L. lIoToHKss, of Derby, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new De- 5 sign for Dress-Stays; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the saine, and which o said drawing` constitutes part-of this specification, and represents a face View of a dressstay embodying my design.

This invention relates to va design for a dress-stay; and it consists in the ornamen- 5 tation and configuration, as hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanying illnstration. l

The design consists in the ont-er covering A for the stay, which is of open-mesh or net-like character and presents an. ornamental covering, and a series of holes o1` openings d at each edge of the stay, said openings or meshes on the two opposite sides of the stay being` symmetrically arranged and lying; parallel one with the other7 all as shown in the accompanying illnstratoi'l.
