SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,383, dated December 8, 1896.
Application filed April 6, 1894:. Serial No- 506,634. Term of patent 14 years.
To (11/ (12/10/11 if lll/ll-j/ (vitae/'11 Be it known that I, GEORGE MARTIN BRILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Truck Side Frame; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the invention.
My invention relates to a truck side frame; and its essential feature resides in the design as shown.
In the drawings forming part of this specification, Figure 1 is aside elevation, and Fig. 2 an end elevation, of the truck side frame.
My truck side frame comprises the longitudinal side bar 1 with inverted-U-shaped yokes 2 extending above the bars 1., the said bar extending beyond the yokes, as at 3, the yokes having the depending lips 4. The extensions 3 of the bar 1 from the yokes out ward are bifurcated, as at 5 6, the extreme end of which is joined by the bed-plate 7, which has two horizontal extensions or earsS. The side bar is rectangular in cross-section. Lying above and parallel with the side bar is a fiat rectangular bar 9, from the proximate ends of which depend inverted- U -shaped yokes 10, flat externally, and above the bedplates 7 lieinverted-U-shaped yokes 11, having outwardl y-extendin g flat cars 12, lying on the ears 8. About the 'yokes 2 and extending upwardly between theside bars 1 3 and bar 9 are circular spiral springs 13, and from the bar 9 through the springs and to and through the side bar extend circular rods 14:, between which extends a flat bar 15. Extending between the ends 3 of the bar 1 and bar 9 and embraced by the yokes l0 and 11 are longitudinally and vertically disposed elliptical springs 16, the inner ends of which extend over the ends 3 of the bar 1 and toward the springs 18.
All of the parts are secured together and form a single unitary structure, and the entire frame is rectangular in its exterior aspect.
I claim The design for a truck side frame, substantially as herein shown and described.
' Signed at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, this 3d day of April, 1894.
