DESIGN FOR A CORSET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,373, dated December 1, 1896.
Application filed December 5, 1895. Serial No. 571,196. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that I, DE VER II. lVARNER, a citizen of theUnited States,residing at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Corsets, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawing I have shown a view of one-half of a corset with the parts extended, showing the essential :features of my design embodied in a corset.
The Characteristic or leading feature of my new design consists in the oorsetherein shown provided with groups or zones of parallel strips, each group or Zone Comprising strips with a split or plain portion between them and extending from the top to the bottoni of the corset. l
rlhus in the drawing, A represents the body of the corset, having the back portion B and the front portion C, Adjacent to the back portion is the group or Zone of parallel strips D D', having a split or plain portion between them and extending from top' to bottom of the corset. 0n either side of the bust portion E are similar groups or zones of strips, each group or zone having strips with a split or' plain portion between them extending from top to bottom of the corset. These groups or Zones of strips are substantially alike in all respects except their location in regard to the body of the corset.
The characteristic or essential features of my new design comprise the corset herein shown provided with groups or Zones of parallel strips, each group or zone comprising strips with a split or plain portion between them and extending from the top to the bottom of the corset.
XVhat I claim7 and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for corsets substantially as shown and described.
