UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANCIS ROOKET'I, OF JACKSON, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A CORSET.
SPEOIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 32,050, dated December 26, 1899.
Application filed November 9, 1899. Serial No. 736,429. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANCIS ROCKETT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jackson, in the county of Jackson and State of 5 Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Corsets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing,form- :0 ing a part thereof.
This invention relates to an original design for corsets; and it is embodied in the shape and configuration hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanying drawing.
In the accompanying drawing is shown but one half of a corset. The design is thus shown for convenience in illustrating, and it is to be understood that the other portion or half is in all essential respects substantially a dupliio cate of that shown.
The single figure of the drawing shows the corset in perspective.
A and B designate fastening-stay portions, and G the vertical intermediate stays, spaced 2 5 apart.
D designates the retaining or forming bands extending across from front to rear.
The body portion E, which constitutes the essential and characteristic features of the design, is provided with a series of separated narrow transverse strips 6, which are relatively closely associated, as shown. These strips bear a marked contrast with the body portion, and they are distributed substantially throughout the body, extending from front to rear.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a corset, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRANCIS ROGKETT.
