SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,681, dated June 23, 1896.
Application filed Kl, 22,1896. Serial No. 592,684- Term of patent 3l years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARTHUR DANBY, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, haveinvented and prodnced a new and original Design for Carpet Fabrics, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification.
My design, as shown in the drawing, consists in a new design for the body and border of a carpet fabric.
In the drawing, A represents the body, and IS the border, as shown. The body consists of the lightly-figured main ground, as shown, in partial obscurity, provided with the large figures shown in heavy colors and pro nuunced. Upon the border B, at its juncture with the body, is the marginal elIeet shown. The ground of the border contiguous to this is dark, terminating in the outline ofa lignrc upon lighter ground. Beyond this is a dark figure on lighter ground, and upon the other end of the border is a leaf-like effect twined or bent upon a supporting scroll-like effect.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a design for a carpet fabric, the body A substantially as shown.
2. In adesign fora carpet fabric, the horder B substantially as shown.
3. The design for a carpet fabric comprising the body A and the border 13.
In testimony of which invention l have hereunto set my hand.
