DESIGN.
H. JOHNSON. TABLE LEG.
No. 25,483. Patented May 12, 1896.
HENRY JOHNSON, OF DETIUJIT, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR F ONE-HALF TO THE \YULYERINE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A TABLE-LEG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,483, dated May 12, 1896.
Application filed December 30, 1895. Serial Not 573,838. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may can earn.-
lieitknown that LIIENRY JOHNSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of \Vaync and State of Michigan, haveinvented and produced a new and original Design for 'Jable-Legs, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings, Figure I is a side eleva- IO tion of a foot for table-lcgs, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof; and Fig. 3 is a horizontal section on line a a, Fig.
A is a cylindrical base ornamented by a series of small circular indentations B, and
vertically disposed on and extending substantially the height of the front and sides of this base are the tapering ridges in imitation of Yertically-extended claws of an animal. At the top of each of these ridges or claws and snrmounting the indented baseA is a partly-globular enlargement C, representing t'aneifully the toe of the animal. These toes extend at an upward and rearward inclina- 2 5 tion from the enlargements U for a short disance and then substantially vertically along the leg proper, and about midway of the inclined portion is a second series of enlargements or swelled portions I, giving the whole somewhat the appearance of a double foot. The central one of these enlargements I extends up the front of the cylindrical standard or leg D in a gradually-narrowin g rib E, which finally merges into the standard. The side enlargements extend up in graduallyenlarging or widening ribs F G, the latter, G, extending around the rear half of the standard at its upper portion. The ribs G are ornamented by transverse inclined ribs II.
The leading feature of the design is the ornamentation described.
\Vhat I claim as my invention is-- The design for a table-leg foot, substantially as herein described and shown.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature 5 in presence of two witnesses.
HENRY JOHNSON. 'itnesses:
O. F. BARTHEL, M. B. ODoeHER'rY.
