No. 24,432. Patented June 25, 1895.
ml mums n10: co. mo'mumo, WHIMGYM n c UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VAL'IER N. BRUN'I, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N 0. 24,432, dated June 25, 1895. Application filed December 1 1894. Serial No. 533,022. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, VVALTER N. BRUN'I, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Badges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
This invention is particularly designed for use in the distribution of awards at; the California Midwinter International Exposition held in 1894 and the designing and disposition of the various emblems are symbolieal of California and its resources.
The leading featu res and the ones intended to assume the most prominence in the design are the following: the central grilled and filagreed double panel, the upper one of which bears the embellished and ornamented O shaped central figure. In the lower member of this double panel is an R shaped figure shaded so as to assume great prominence, the upper portion of which overlaps the embellished portion of the upper member of the double panel. Overcrowning this double panel is a delicately shaded panel bearing a representation of one of the buildings of said Exposition, namely: the Administration building. Suspended from the lower border of the filigrced double panel is the representation of a metal cross-bar, whileimmediatcly below this bar and attached to it by means of a ribbon is a. reptesentation of a medal the outer contour of which is a representation of a wreath of California fruits and flowers encircling the seltingsun, over the Golden Gate, in the foreground of the latterof which is represented a bear. Respectively above and below the representation of the Golden Gate and immediately over the wreath are the representation of an eagle with ontspread wings, and a star.
Having thus fully described my design, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a badge, as herein shown and described.
\VAL'IER N. BRUN T.
