Description

BESTAVAJLABLE COPY No. 11 ,981 October 19, 1880 UNITED STATES PATENT OEEICE.
EMMA M. REQUA, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,981, dated October 19, 1880.
.Application filed March 15, 1880. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, EMMA M. REQUA, acitizen ot" the United States, residing in the city, county, and State ot' New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Badge, of which the following is a specifica tion, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
y design consists, essentially, of a globe freely suspended from an ornamental pin above it, and preferably bearing any suitable inscription-such, for instance, as Worlds Fair, ISSSL-or it may bear some other inscription commemorative of some important event.
In the accompanying drawing illustrating` my inventon,A indicates a pin in the form ot' a spreadeagle, from which depends a tricolored ribbon pendant, B, having attached to its lower end a geographical globe, C.
The foregoing is the exact design I prefer to make; but it is obvious that the essence of my invention is a globe freely depending; from apin--that is to say, not within and surrounded by an annular or other shaped pin or frame. The pin may be plain or ot' any other figure than that shown, and the pendant B may be ot' metal or ot' any other material than tricolored ribbon, without departing essentially from the substance of my invention.
I claim- The design for a badge herein described and shown, which consists ot' a pin, A, a pendant, B, and a freely depending globe, C, the pendant and globe being' wholly beneath the pin, as described, and shown in the accompanying illustra-tion.
EMMA M. REQUA.
