DESIGN FOR A HINGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,137, dated March 19, 1895.
Application iled February 2,1895. Serial No. 537,126. Term of patent 7 years.
.To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, AUGUST S. HELD, a oiti zen of the United States, residing at Freeport, in the county of Stephenson and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spring-Hinges, of which the following is a specification.
Figure 1 is a plan view of the hinge when it lies upon that face which is to be applied to a door. Fig. 2 is an edge view, looking to the left in Fig. 1.
The hinge appears to consist of A base plate, A, A; a central, approximately semicylindrical portion, D, raised above the plane ofthe plate and having its sides and ends eqndistant, respective] y, from the plates corresponding margins; and,at each end of said portion, a tip, B, B', which resembles a halfeone extending to the end of the plate and there terminating in a small ball C,the metal of the plate being carried upward, nearly perpendicularly, to all marginal peints of the half cylinder and half cone, so that the whole visible surface may be approximately continuons.
The central, or indispensable, feature of this design consists in a hinge having the conical tips within the marginal end outlines of the hinge.
What I claim is- The design, for a hinge, herein shown and described.
