To al whom it may conceir't:
Be it known that I, ISAAC L. Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and original shape for tie-plates or chairs for railroad-rails; and to this end said invention consists in the design for a tie-plate or chair, substantially as herein set forth.
The leading feature of my design consists in the shape of the body of the chair or plate, the same comprising two parts that are of difierent width and having certain projections from one side of the body.
In the drawings, A designates the wider portion of the plate, and B the narrower portion thereof, the part B being placed centrally between the two side edges of the other. Extending inward from one end edge of the portion'A is a slot 0, on opposite sides of which the plate has two projections D and D, that are inclined toward each other. At the opposite end edge of the portion A, at each side of the portion 13, there is a hook-form projection E, that curves over the portion A. At .the outer end edge of the portion B there is a rib or flange F. Holes G are provided in the plate at several points.
Having thus described myinvention, what I claim is- The design for a tie-plate or chair, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 15th day of September, 1898.
