UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRED G. SHOUDY, OF ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A CABINET.
To a/ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRED G. SHOUDY, a -izen of the United States, residing at Rockiord, in the county of Winnebago and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cabinets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, showing a part thereof.
The leading features of my design consist in a cabinet of the general shape shown in the drawing, and of the various beads extending in the lengthwise direction of the cabinet and across the ends thereof, the panels in the ends of the cabinet and of the turned legs forming supports for the cabinet.
In the accompanying drawing, I have shown a perspective view of a cabinet embodying my design.
The cabinet proper is of rectangular form and divided lengthwise into two portions. The upper portion 1, extends the length of the cabinet, and is sub-divided into five compartments of equal size, the top portions standing at an angle being highest at its rear, each compartment being covered by a lid 2, formed of molding. The lower portion of closed by a drawer the cabinet is divided by vertical strips 3, into five divisions corresponding to the divisions of the upper portion, each compartment having its end 4 made of molding in the shape of a frame. The front of the upper compartment is provided with heads 5, running in the lengthwise direction of the cabinet and across the ends thereof, and between the heads is formed a flat surface 6, extending across the front and ends of the cabinet.
The cabinet proper is supported upon turned legs 7, one located at each corner. A panel 8, is formed in each end of the cabinet on a level with the lower compartments. By this arrangement a new and attractive cabinet is produced imparting to the eye a symmetry of proportion and beautiful as to ornamentation.
I claim as my invention- The design for a cabinet herein shown and described.
FRED G. SHOUDY.
