DISPLAY CASE. APPL IGATIOH FILED DEC. 19, 1906.

I I WITNESSES: i F INVE TOR' fizz W Z v Affomeys WILLIAM SIMON, OF MoKEES ROCKS, PENNSYLVANIA.
DISPLAY-CASE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 7, 1907.
Application filed December 19,1906. Serial No. 348.566.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM SIMON, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at McKees Rocks, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented cer-' tain new and useful Improvements in Display-Cases, of which the following is a specilication, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to display cases particularly designed for exhibiting foot wear and their accessories or findings.
The invention aims to provide a combined display case and counter, the top of which serves for displaying foot wear and function ally as a counter, while the front side of the case is used for displaying the accessories or findings and the rear part of the case for storing foot wear accessories or findings. The case in its entirety is of a simple construction, whereby easy access may be had to different parts of the'case.
The detail construction of my invention will be presently described and then specifically pointed out in the appended claims, and. referring to the drawing forming part of this specification, like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the case, and Fig. 2 is-a vertical sectional view.
The display case consists of end boards 1 having inclined front edges 2 and vertical rear edges 3. The end boards are secured together by foundation boards 4, horizontal partitions 5, 6, 7 and 8, said partitions varying in width, the partitions 6 and 7 being of a less width than the partitions 5 and 8 to permit'of an inclined board 9 being arranged between the partitions 5 and 8 upon the front side of the case, this board forming the back of a compartment 10, which is used for dis playing the findings of foot wear. The lower front edge of the partition 8 is provided with a guide stri 11 while the upper edge of the foundation oard 4 is provided with a similar strip 12. A frame 14 is slidably mounted between said strips, said frame being provided with a beveled glass plate 15, whereby the interior of the compartment 10 may be observed.
Between the partitions 5, 6, 7 and 8 are slidably mounted drawers 16 adapted to contain the stock represented in the compartment 10.
Upon the partition 8 is constructed a frame work 17 having a transparent front and end walls 18, and a transparent top 19. The rear of the frame work 17 is closed by two sliding doors 20 of a conventional form. In the compartment formed by the frame work 17, foot wear or findings can be dis played.
I do not care to confine myself to the'size of the display case or the material from which it is constructed, and such changes in the details of construction as are permissible by the appended claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. v
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A display case consisting of end boards, horizontal partitions connecting said end boards and varying in width, drawers slidably mounted between said partitions, an inclined board arranged between two of said partitions, a transparent frame slidably mounted between the same two partitions and providing a display compartment, a frame work mounted between the uppermost partitions, and having transparent ends, front and top, and providing a display compartment, sliding doors normally closing the back of said frame work or display compartment, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM SIMON.
