REVOLVING DISPLAY-STAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N0. 794,418, dated July 11, 1905.
Application filed April 1, 1905- Serial No. 253,277.
1'0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, DANIEL H. MANWILLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Reading, in the county of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, have invented. new and useful Improvements in Revolving Display-Stands, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in display-stands intended more particularly for use in mercantile establishments for the purpose of displaying different articles of merchandise.
The objects of the invention are to provide a device by means of which the objects displayed may be easily accessible, one in which the device may be easily manipulated to bring all points thereof before the operator, and one in which the goods displayed are protected from useless handling, thus preventing a soiled or shop-worn appearance.
The invention is more fully described in the following specification and clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a front elevation, and Fig. 2 a cross-sectional view taken on line X X of Fig. 1, of my device.
The. stand comprises a base 1, having a central shaft 2 extending upward therefrom.
The numeral 3 designates a revolving case or cabinet. This case is octagonal in crosssection and is revolubly mounted on the shaft 2. The case is formed of a-plurality of upright boxes 4, preferably eight in number, each of which is provided with a glass door 5. These boxes are held together by means of top and bottom pieces 6. The spaces 8 between the sides of the boxes are closed by means of vertical strips 9. These strips may,
if desired, be mirrors, or they may contain suitable lettering or advertising.
The boxes 4 are divided into compartments 10. These compartments are formed by shelves or slides 11 entering grooves 12, out into the side walls of the boxes. Retainingrods 13 are strung across the front of each compartment to hold the packages from falling out when the door is open.
By means of my device packages of varied size may be displayed, as one or more of the slides 11 may be removed to suit the goods displayed.
Having thus fully described my invention, its construction and operation, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A display-stand comprising a stationary base having a vertical upright shaft thereon, a cabinet composed of a series of verticallyarranged boxes revolubly mounted on said. shaft, glass doors secured to the front of said boxes, grooves cut into the side walls of said boxes, shelves fitting into said grooves, rods 13 mounted between the walls of said boxes above said slides and vertical strips closing the spaces between said boxes.
2. A display-stand comprising a stationary base, a cabinet revolubly mounted on said base, said cabinet composed of a series of boxes divided into compartments, removable shelves located in said boxes and rods mounted between the walls of said boxes.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
DANIEL H. MAN WILLER.
