UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\YILLTAM S. GRAFTON, OF \VIIEELING, \VEST VIRGINIA, ASSIGNOR TO THE \VIIEELING GORRUGATING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A METALLIC MOLDING.
SPECIFICATION forming part; of Design No. 23,048, dated February 6, 1894.
Application filed January 8. 1894. Serial No. 496,194. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM S. GRAFTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at \Vheeling, in the county of Ohio and State of Vest Virginia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Metallic Molding,of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof, which shows a [O metallic molding designed according to my invention.
My design consists of a metallic molding A, having at its opposite edges ribs or ridges a, provided at equal distances apart with con- 1 5 caved, circular projections (L The upper portion 13, of the molding projects from the top edge a, and has a flat front portion 0, joining the upper edgeby an inclined portion 0. The inclined portion is ornamented by a series of oblong depressions 0, while the front portion is ornamented by a series of semi-circular projections D, joining each other at their ends by curved lines (I, the edges of the joined projections forming a festoou. The
lower portion of the molding below the part C, is inclined downwardly toward the lower edge a, and this lower portion is divided into sections of equal area by a projection E, extending from each circular concaved projection afiinwardly toward the portion C. Each of the portions of the molding between the ribs or projections E, is ornamented by a central triangular projection F, on each side of which is arranged a series of curved projections or ribsf, that are joined in curved lines at their outer ends. From the two ribs E, of each section, radiate inclined ribs f which are joined at their outer ends by an inclined rib f The ornamentation of the portion 0, of the molding, as well as of the portion 0, is continuous. The ornamentation of all the sections of the lower portions are alike.
The essential feature of mydesign is a metallic molding having the flat, front portion provided with semi-circular projections with their edges connected to form a festoon, an inclined top portion havingaseriesof oblong depressions, and a series of inclined lower portions divided by a series of ribs between which are arranged a series of inclined ribs joined at their outer ends and surrounding a triangular projection.
I claim The design for a metallic molding herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name.
\VILLIAM S. GRAFTON.
