UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN J. BRODERIOK, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, ASSIGNOR TO THE AMERICAN TIRE COMPANY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-TIRE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,501, dated April 19, 1898.
Application filed February 12, 1898. Serial No. 670,148. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN J BRODERICK, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented a certain new and original Design for Bicycle-Tires, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a side elevational view of a tire ornamented according to my new and original design. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the tire, and Fig. 4 is a side elevational view of a portion of a tire.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a bicycle-tire; and it consists in the shape and ornamentation of the same, as will hereinafter be described ,and afterward pointed out in the claim.
The characteristic features of my design consist of the convex base, as indicated at a, the side walls of the tire converging in curved lines to a pointed tread b.
In cross'section the tire is substantially bell-shaped.
Having thus described my new and original design, what I claim is- A design for a bicycle-tire, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aifix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses, this 7th day of February, 1898.
JOHN J. BRODERIOK.
