UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BENJAMIN DAVIES, OF BROOKLYN, ASSIGNOR TO L.
STRAUS & SONS, OF
NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR THE ORNAMENTATION OF GLASS VESSELS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN DAVIES, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Ornamentation of Glass Vessels; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the said invention, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of a vessel ornamented with my design, and Fig. 2- represents a cross sectional view of the same.
The leading features of my design consist of a series of groups of four radiating grooves, the grooves of the series crossing each other, the central inner spaces of each group having a small spray of grooves and the outer central spaces having a larger spray or fan of grooves, the two inverted kite-shaped spaces having fine cross grooved fields and the four triangular shaped spaces having fine parallel grooves.
In the center of the design is a star A of ordinary pattern to which I make no claim. From diiferent points outside of this star, deep grooves B, radiate, the outer ends of the grooves of each group meeting the outer ends of the outer grooves of the third group therefrom, as indicated at b, and also meeting at the same point (b), the outer ends of the intermediate grooves of the second group. The
inner points of radiation are indicated at b] Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- The design for the ornamentation of glass vessels, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
BENJAMIN DAVIES.
