DESIGNTOR A MONUMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,451, dated April 5, 1892.
Application filed March 3, 1892. Serial No. 423,674. Term of patent 3% years.

lie it known that I, \VILLIAM ll. PERRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at (oncord, in the county of Merrimac and State of Ne w Hampshire, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Monuments, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawing letters and figures of reference will be used to designate the various features of my design.
The base (shown at 1) has four vertical sides, which terminate at its top in an obtuse frustum 2 of a pyramid. The pedestal has four vertical sidesjoining at their bottom the f frustnm 2, and terminates at its top in an acute frustum of a pyramid, (seen at 4,) one or more sides of which maybe provided with a raised tablet 5. The shaft 6 has four YOP- tical sides, which terminate at their top in a ter being chalnl'crcd down to said shaft-level, as seen at ll, and the said raised tablets S and 10 are each ornamented by a V-groove 12, and each of the four sides of the cone 7 may be ornamented by a tablet 13.
In my design a special feature of ornamentation is produced by surfaces of a different character, which are denoted by lcttiersof refcrenceviz., A B C. The surfaces, shown at A represent roek-worlii. c, the surface is left as nearly as possible just as split. The surfaces at I represent hammered work, while the surfaces marked denote polished work.
Having described my design, what I claim 1s The design for a monument, as herein shown and described.
