ERNST LAUSCI'IKE AND JULIUS SCIIMOHL, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, 4ASSIGNORS TO BARNHART BROS. du SPINDLER, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPEf SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,997, dated July 1, 1890. Application filed September 14, 1389. Serial No. 323,962. Term of patent 14 years.
To a/ZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it knownthat we, ERNST LAUSCHKE and JULIUs SCHMOHL, subjects of the Emperor of Germany, residing at the city of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Font of Type, which is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being had to the accompanying typographical representation thereof, forming a part of the same.
This ,design comprises lower-case letters, points, figures, capitals, dollar-mark, and two ornaments. In general character it is ornamental, somewhat condensed, and characterized by decided shades merging into hair-line terminal curves on most of the letters. The special characteristic is seen most prominently in lower-case e, g, k, and capital C, K,
and R, consisting of a triangular abruptlyterminating swell seen at the upper end of .the Oval of e, at the lower end of the tail of g, and at the lower end of the tail of k, at the lower end of capital C, and at the lower end of the tail of capital K, and at the lower end of the tail of capital R.
