DESIGN FOR A CLAMP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,779, Vdated April 29, 1890.
Application filed March 22| 1890. Serial No. 344,935. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERICK N. GARDNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Beloit, in the county of Rock and State of Wisconsin, have invented and produced anew and original Design for Clamps, of which the following.,r is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure l shows a perspective view of a clamp made according to my design. Fig'. 2 is a front View of the clamp.
The leading feature of my design consists in the particular shape formed by the lilies and plain surfaces, which are invariably parallel with or at right angles to each other and the curved lines of the central portion.
A is the back of the clamp; 1S, the jaws; C,
the curved central enlargement; D, the screw. These plain surfaces are made perfectly smooth and exactly at right angles to each other where they intersect or parallel with each other if they do not intersect-that is to say, the back and front surfaces are parallel to cach other, the two ends are parallel to each other, and the side is at right angles to the inside of the space C and to the inside of the jaws and t0 the back, ends, and front of the clamp.
IVhat I claim is- The design for a clamp, as herein shown and described.
