Be it known that I, EDWARD Excma, ofthe city of Hoboken, Hudson county, and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Baseof Plumes, of which the following is a full, clear, and cxact specification.
My invention relates to a design for the base of' plumes; and the leading feature of the design consists in a spherical extremity surinounted by circular lilies in imitation of a corded su rface, and cord-like lines represented :is capping the said circular lines, arranged in imitation ol'a rope coil.
Reference is to be had to the accom panyiug drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which the ligure ol' the drawing is a front elevation of a. plume having my design applied.
A is the base ol thc plume, which is circular in general contour. At thc lower end or extremity of thc base a series of circular ropelike lines, u, are produced of varied length, grouped to represent a spherical body, B.
Above the spherical body B a series of cordlike lines, b, are produced, one line intersecting the other to produce the e'ect of a ring or coil, and iu the space intervening the representaton of the spherical body and the ring or coil are a series of circular lines, d, in imitation of a corded surface, the said lines d being of greatest length near the coil or ring and shortened as they approach thesphere, whereby a conical or tapering ecct is obtained.
I claim- The design for the base of a plume herein shown and described, consisting ofa series of rope-like lines at the extremity representing a spherical body, B, a series of circular lines, d, of various lengths above thc spherical body in imitation ofa conical corded surface, and a series of intersecting cord-like lines, h, above the corded surf-nce in imitation of a ring or coil.
