To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, G. RALSTON AYRES, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for a Horse-Blanket,
of which the following is a specification.
My design is fully shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side view of a horseblanket 1o embodying the design, and Fig. 2 an enlarged view showing more clearly the character of the stripes composing the pattern.
The blanket has the curved back-border a, curved neek-border b, front and rear borders,
:5 d andf, and bottom border, 9, and the body of the blanket isornamented by vertical stripes h andi and horizontal stripes h and i, these stripes crossing each other to form plaids inelosiug blocks 10, which are a distinct feature of the pattern, being of a coloror tint contrasting with that of the groundwork of the inclosing plaid.
Each of the stripes of the plaid is composed of a series of bars, m, those of the stripes h h being preferably of a distinct color or shade work of the stripes for contrast with the blocks inclosed thereby.
I clairn 1. The withii'rdcscribed design for a pattern for horse-blankets, said design consisting of stripes composed of bars separated to expose the groundwork of the stripes, said stripes crossing each other to form plaids, which inclose blocks contrasting with the groundwork of the stripes, all substantially as shown and described.
2. The within described design for a horseblanket, said design consisting of a curved back and neck border, the front, rear, and bottom borders, and the body having a pattern consisting of stripes composed of bars separated to expose the groundwork of the stripes, said stripes crossing each other to form plaids, which inclose blocks contrasting with the groundwork of the stripes, all substantially as shown and described.
