DESIGN FOR A FABRIC FOR HORSE-BLANKETS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17.938, dated December 13, 1887.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, G. RALSTON AYRES, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a. new and original Design for Horse-Blanket Fabrics, of which the following is a specification.

My design for a pattern for horse blanket fabrics is fully shown in the acconipanying drawings, both of the figuresof which embody the design.

The design consists of stripes a a, crossing each other at right angles to form a plaid, and each composed of bars a on a suitable groundwork, the block b, inclosed by the plaid, being distinct in color or tint from the groundwork of the stripe. A second plaid is formed by other stripes, d'd,each composed of bars 11, these stripes crossing each other i n the blocks b.

As shown in Figure 1, the bars of the stripes a are solid and those of the stripes d are com- 20 posed of dashes, while in Fig. 2 the reverse is the case.

' I claim- The design for a pattern for horse-blanket fabrics, said design consisting of stripes a, 25 forminga plaid inclosing blocks b,distinct from the groundwork of said inclosing plaid, and other stripes d, forming a second plaid and crossing each other in the blocks 1), all substantially as described and shown.
